We shall discuss which Zombie Games made the most impact of all games, and had the most appeal.
I think for this top 10 needs to hit the core of the thought of a Zombie Apocalypse.
Survival, Scarcity of supplies, and lots of zombie shooting of course.
I nominate Black Ops 1 for bringing back Zombie Survival.
And Resident Evil 4 for being timeless classic. I have too much to say about it. Leon is the best if not one of the most badass characters of all time.
The terror was there, mindless zombies (even though not undead) were there. Yes, Co-Op was missing, but zombie horror is all about feeling alone and frightened.

Im stuck responding to this on a guest cause I'm waiting for approval...geez...
Mr. VPs recommendations for best Zombie Games (argue as you will):::
10) Dead Rising -Sorry but there's a reason I put this one at the bottom of the top ten. Yes it was awesome with the sandbox ish layout and yes there were hundreds of ways to kill hundreds of zombies...but when you have a story that wouldnt make sense to anyone outside of jpop culture, and you have to continuously kill the same mini bosses over and over and over...and over again...it gets old...fast. Plus the timer didn't help much either
9) Call of Duty Black Ops 2 -Adds on to what made the first BO zombie survival game great
8) Call of Duty Black Ops -Adds on to what made the first CoD zombie game awesome, plus the arcade style zombie game hidden in the computer was a nice touch
7) Call of Duty World at War -This one really brought the survival shooter to a new level...combining micro management of funds, base defense, and unique storyline together to make zombie games more accessible to the masses.
6)Dead Rising 2 -most of the stuff that I complained about in the first one, were pretty much fixed in the second one. The story was still out there, but you felt a sense of urgency when it came to your daughter and the medication needed to keep her alive.
5)Left 4 Dead -Valve...the mere mention of the name brings fluttering feelings to PC players. So when the juggernaut of PC FPS took on the zombie survival horror game genre...they didn't waste time becoming a force on both PC and consoles. From the intensity of 4 player co op, to the awesome multiplayer experience playing as zombies, you can't go wrong with left 4 Dead
4) Dead Space -I know this is more horror then zombie, but when you can take the fear of the dead to a near bed wetting level...now that's a beautiful thing...in a manner of speaking
3) Halo -Yeah this game actually had zombies believe it or not, and the introduction to the FLOOD (think space zombies) is bad enough, as you look in horror as entire squads of marines are not only completely decimated, but horrifyingly assimilated into the FLOOD forces (hence the name). Add to this the fact that the aliens ironically trying to kill you now fight for their lives as you are, only to be assimilated as well, and the trek to the end of the game seems daunting to say the least.
2) Resident Evil 4 -I'll give credit where credit is due. There's a reason why this game won Game of the Year multiple times in multiple magazines and shows, and was ported to almost every system save for the game boy itself. It had perfect elements of story, combat, tactics, and that RE edge that is all its own. What are you buying?...it was obvious to be sure
1)Resident Evil -As much as I do like RE4, you have to give props to the one that started it all. Resident Evil was a game nobody had ever experienced before. The feeling of a horror movie, with the action and puzzle solving of a video game. It was the peanut butter and jelly of its time. But with so many RE games out there, it's hard to remember where it all began...that's why the original RE deserves the top spot, because without it, we wouldn't have the genre we know it to be today.
