I plan to have this thread be the official discussion for the Pokemon TCG prereleases, so we won't have to make a new thread each time we talk about a new prerelease.
A Pokemon Trading Card Game Prerelease is somewhat similar to a YuGiOh Sneak Peak.
At the prerelease, we are given six booster packs. We open them, and then we create a 40 card deck, using some of the cards we pulled from the booster packs, and using the energies given to us by the tournament organizers.
We then have a tournament using those decks, and the person who wins the most matches out of all the matches they played wins the tournament and gets a higher score on the list of people who attend tournaments out of the entire world.
Anyways, prereleases are usually good for pulling good cards and getting good cards early. The more friends you go with to the prerelease, the better it usually is, becuase you can trade your new cards with your friends.
Prereleases cost $25 to enter.
The closest places where prereleases are held is in El Paso.
The next prerelease is for the Pokemon Black & White set
One of the dates is April 16th-17th, or 23-24th.
One of those days. I will be calling them this week to find out the exact date.
The reason we don't have prereleases in Las Cruces is becuase we don't even have official tournaments here, nor enough people who would show up for the tournament.
If anyone is able to give rides to El Paso and back, please let me know.
If anyone is able to go, but doesn't have enough money for gas, or doesn't have enough money to enter the tournament but would like to, please let me know and I will arrange something.
Unfortunately, the cheaper buses that travel to El Paso and back don't run on weekends, and the more expensive buses are so expensive that they aren't worth making the trip.
Also, feel free to chat about the new set that is going to be released.
